Police Officer

The Nevada Public Safety Department is accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. Interested candidates must submit a City of Nevada application, Cover Letter, and Resume by 5:00 PM on Friday, May 31, 2024.  The link to this application can be found at .cityofnevadaiowa.org/employment/

Physical Agility testing will be held at 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the Nevada Public Safety Department, 1209 6th Street.

Those who successfully pass physical agility testing will have a POST (Police Officer Selection Test) and interview set up at a later date.

Certified Police Officers are preferred, but non-certified officers are encouraged to test.  Minorities, Women, and Military Veterans are encouraged to apply.

Part-time Field House employees

Recreational Service Providers

Do you have an interest in hosting a program/activity or special event, coaching sport-specific skills and/or hosting camps and clinics at the Nevada Field House?  If so, please click on the link below and submit your proposal to Nevada Parks and Recreation staff.  We will then review the information and determine the best course of action based on your qualifications, type of recreational service to be provided, and community need.

How to Apply

When applying for a position, you will be asked to complete a City of Nevada employment application by mail or in person. You must apply for the position by submitting all required materials by the position’s closing date.

The City will only accept applications for current job openings and no resume or applications will be kept on file.

Obtaining an Application

Post Offer Requirements

Job offers are made pending a driver’s license check, medical examination, alcohol/drug testing, and/or a polygraph/background investigation. If offered a job, before starting work with the City, you will be required to present identification and work authorization papers.
