The City of Nevada Wastewater Treatment Plant is a two-stage trickling filter facility with grit and screenings removal, primary, intermediate and final clarification. Solids are processed by anaerobic digestion and land application of liquid bio-solids.
The average wet weather design of the facility is 2.39 million gallons per day and the maximum wet weather design is 7.53 million gallons per day.
The City of Nevada Wastewater Treatment Plant has been at its current location since 1961. Major upgrades to increase the capacity of the plant were completed in 1986, 1994 and 2004. Smaller projects to replace equipment and enhance performance were completed in 2007 and 2008.
