Flag FootballCentral Iowa Recreation League - Fall Sports

MISSION

The mission of the Central Iowa Recreation League is to allow all youth the opportunity to participate in an organized league, offering various sports where fundamentals are a focus and organized game play is both fair and competitive.

FLAG FOOTBALL

Games and/or practices will be held on Monday and Tuesday evenings depending on the schedule with other communities (including Ames, Colo-NESCO, Nevada, Roland-Story, and South Hamilton).

YOUTH VOLLEYBALL

Practices will be held on Tuesday evenings in September. Games will be played on Thursday evenings depending on the schedule with other communities (including Ames, Colo-NESCO, Nevada, Roland-Story, and South Hamilton).

Youth Basketball

Basketball Programs are available for children ages 4 years - 6th Grade. Please see registration forms for more information.

Breakfast with SantaJunior Theatre

Junior Theatre is a program for students in K-6th grade wanting to explore the world of fine arts.  Students will perform a fun and age appropriate play written by the participants that will be presented during the Festival of Trees Celebration, held during the month of December.

Baseball/Softball

Baseball and Softball programs are available for students 4 years of age - 6th grade. Programs include Blastball, Coach Pitch T-Ball, Little League Baseball and Central Iowa Recreation League Softball. Baseball and Softball programs are held during April, May, and June. Registration deadlines are in February. Please note additional registration forms are needed for Little League Baseball.

Breakfast with Santa

The Nevada Parks & Recreation Department has invited Santa Claus to town. Come have a delicious breakfast and the man in the big red suit! You'll also be able to enjoy Festival of Trees and the Chamber Cookie Parade.

Festival of Trees

Festival of Trees is held the second full weekend of December each year. Person’s attending will get the opportunity to marvel at beautifully decorated Christmas Trees and vote for the best decorated tree.  For more information on entering a tree, please contact Nevada Parks and Recreation at 382-4352.

Hershey Track and Field Meet

Nevada Parks and Recreation will be sponsoring the Hershey Track and Field meet.  Participants have the opportunity to advance to state and nationals in this yearly event.

  • Program information available in early spring.

Walk-N-Rock

Nevada Parks and Recreation will once again be offering our Walk-n-Rock Program for students in Central Elementary.

  • Registration information - 2013/2014 information available mid-summer
